Mr.Shankkar Aiyar

Shankkar Aiyar won The PoleStar Award titled, 'Best Feature in Business Journalism' for 2003 for his article 'Made In India: The Story of Manufacturing Revival', that appeared in India Today.

Shankkar Aiyar is a prominent India-based journalist, analyst, columnist and author.

His path-breaking book Accidental India: A History of the Nation's Passage through Crisis and Change has fetched him national acclaim as a public intellectual. As an analyst, Aiyar specialises in economics and politics with emphasis on the interface between the two. As a public intellectual, he provides insights on news channels and as columnist writes on how politics impacts governance, the economy and financial markets. As a journalist for nearly three decades - his 1991 scoop on a bankrupt India pledging its gold reserves made national headlines - he has won awards and been at the helm of a national newspaper and newsweekly. Shankkar Aiyar was the recipient of the Wolfson Chevening Shared-Press Fellowship at Cambridge University and was awarded the Observer Business Journalist of the Year Award in 1992.
