Mr. Samar Halarnkar

Samar Halarnkar won The PoleStar Award titled, 'IT for the Masses' for 2001 for his article published in Business Today.

Samar Halarnkar serves as Managing Editor of Hindustan Times at HT Media Ltd and is responsible for operations of all HT editions. He also serves as a Consulting Editor to Mint and is currently a visiting lecturer at the University of California-Berkeley.

Prior to HT, he worked with Indian Express, Mumbai and Times of India, Bangalore. He has been in journalism for 19 years. He also has several Fellowships and Awards to his credit, including Fellow Program in Science - Journalism Centre, Missouri; Fellow Program in Energy, Environment and Resource Sustainability, Winnipeg, Canada. He is a columnist and a writer on poverty, diversity, technology and internal-conflict issues and also writes on food and cooking in his blog titled 'Our Daily Bread'. Samar is a 1987 Commerce Graduate from Bangalore University and a Post Graduate in Journalism from the University of Missouri - US.

Ms.Shweta Verma

Ms. Shweta Verma won The PoleStar Award titled, 'IT for Competitive Advantage', for 2001 for her article, 'e-Enablement: the enterprise gets e-ready', published in Dataquest.

Shweta Verma is currently working as Executive Editor at Dataquest. She has over 16 years' experience in business and technology journalism with organizations like TV18, The Asian Age, Dataquest, BusinessWorld, and India Syndicate.

Shweta has also worked as a consultant on several content related projects for leading organizations like Infosys, Wipro, Tata Comm, IBM, Microsoft, WNS, Firstsource, Airtel, and CII amongst others. Shweta is an alumnus of IIMC Delhi, where she received The Hindu Award for best performance at the institute.
