Mr. Jamshed Avari

Jamshed Avari won The PoleStar Award titled, ‘Best Feature in IT Journalism’ for 2010 for his story, ‘Safe Social Networking’ published in CHIP magazine

Jamshed Avari has been writing about technology for over eight years. Having started out as an intern, he is now Deputy Editor of CHIP, India's most trusted guide to technology.

He regularly writes articles and opinions, reviews new products and software, and analyses news, trends and current events. Going beyond simple ratings and specifications, he digs deep into how emerging products and services affect actual users and society at large. He's happiest when anything comes along that challenges everyone's assumptions about how products should work, what they should do, and who can benefit from them.

   
Best Feature in Business Journalism

Mr. Sudhir Ramchandra Gore

Sudhir Ramchandra Gore won The PoleStar Award titled, ‘Best Feature in Business Journalism’ for 2010 for his story ‘White Crisis’ published in India Today.

Sudhir is a senior journalist who has been writing in Hindi and English for last 23 years. His present job as Executive Editor with news portal www.naidunia.com involves ideating, planning, editing stories along with designing the final editorial product.

Sudhir has been doing stories on business, economy, technology and education and society. He has earlier worked with The India Today Group, The Times of India, Dainik Bhaskar and Free Press in various capacities, largely with business desk and reporting. He has majored in English and Political Science besides having a diploma in Business Management and a post graduate diploma in Mass Communication. In mainstream journalism since 1990, Sudhir is passionate about development of digital content in Indian languages.

   
Jury's Special Recognition

Ms. Vantika Dixit

Vantika Dixit won The PoleStar Award titled, ‘Jury's Special Recognition’ for 2010 for her story ‘Digital Resurrection of Indian Heritage’ published in Technology Review.

Vantika is Manager - IP Deployement and Commercialization at Infosys Labs, Infosys Limited.

In the winning year, she was the Associate Editor (India Edition) of Massachusetts Institute of Technology's (MIT) Technology Review magazine. She began her career with Hindustan Times continuing with HT Broadband channel, HT's online UK edition and India Today's Men's Health magazine. She has also worked as a book editor for some of India's leading publishers such as Prentice-Hall of India, Oxford University Press and Tata McGraw-Hill. Vantika holds a B.A.Honors degree in English Literature from Miranda House, University of Delhi. .
