Mr. Gunjan Trivedi

Gunjan Trivedi won The PoleStar Award titled, ‘Best Feature in IT Journalism’ for 2008 for his cover story, ‘Serving IT shrunk’, published in CIO on the holistic business impact that ICICI Bank enjoyed when it comprehensively virtualised its server ecosystem.

Over the past 11 years, Gunjan's work portfolio has extended from hands-on Enterprise IT deployments to writing about various facets of Information Technology leveraged by some of

India's largest organisations, and to hosting peer-experience & knowledge-sharing platforms while moderating extensive industry-level conversations. His expertise resides in being able to deconstruct complex IT implementations, and focus on their business impact.

Gunjan has been associated with IDG Media for close to 8 years now, and is currently the Executive Editor, managing the editorial team for audience engagement programs and events for IT decision-makers, leaders and influencers across the CIO, Computerworld and Channelworld brands. Earlier, he was the Executive Editor for CIO and headed the editorial team for CIO India Magazine and CIO India Online. He had earlier been the Executive Editor for Computerworld India as well.

Before turning to journalism, Gunjan was directly involved in numerous IP-WAN infrastructure implementation projects at medium to large-sized organisations. Apart from his practical knowledge in the field of IT, his soundness of technology stems from his academic background as a Bachelor in Computer Applications (BCA), a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) and a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA). .

   
Best Feature in Business Journalism

Ms. Dhanya Krishnakumar

Dhanya Krishnakumar won The PoleStar Award titled, ‘Best Feature in Business Journalism’ for 2008 for her story, ‘The Sun in the Backyard’, published in Businessworld.

Dhanya has specialized in covering the IT and Telecom industries through her years in journalism. She enjoys writing about technology as she feels it is a great socio-economic equalizer and can do wonders to help promote inclusive growth of the society.

Dhanya was formerly a Principal Correspondent with Businessworld, heading the Bangalore bureau of the publication. She began her career as an IT journalist with the CyberMedia group in 2001. She’s had the rich experience of working with a wide array of print & electronic media, including CNBC TV-18, NDTV Profit, Times Now, and The Times of India. Dhanya completed her BA in Economics from Mar Ivanios College, her MA in Politics with specialisation in International Relations from Jawaharlal Nehru University and her PG Diploma in Broadcast Journalism from the Asian College of Journalism.

   
Jury's Special Recognition

Mr. E Kumar Sharma

E Kumar Sharma won The PoleStar Award titled, ‘Jury's Special Recognition’ for 2008 for his articles: ‘On a (merit) roll’, ‘The route to `dharmacracy’ and ‘Messiah or merchant?’, that appeared in Business Today.

Kumar, currently the Associate Editor at Business Today, has been with Business Today for over a decade and in business journalism for over two decades now.

He has written on everything related to business across sectors, including catching early trends and writing on corporate strategy but has tended to track domains like Healthcare, pharma, microfinance, information technology and retail.
